Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.

The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.

Rice's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
